After waiting for several days, he finally received his mail.

Two days later, Mijbil managed to reach the bathroom on its own. When Maxwell arrived, he saw the otter standing on the edge of the bathtub trying to turn the taps with its paws. Soon, it succeeded in opening the tap and water started flowing freely.

Maxwell arranged to travel by air to Paris and then go to London from there. The airline told him that Mij must be kept in a small box. The box had to be placed on the floor near his feet during the flight.

The box was covered with a thin metal sheet from inside. Mij felt uncomfortable inside it and tried to get out. While attempting to escape, it scratched and tore the metal lining of the box. In doing so, it injured itself and began to bleed.

When the box was opened, Mij quickly jumped out and ran down the aisle of the plane. The passengers became frightened and started shouting. One woman even screamed, thinking that it was a rat. Maxwell saw Mij running under the seats and tried to catch him but failed.

The airhostess asked Maxwell to stay calm and remain seated. After some time, Mij returned on his own. It climbed onto Maxwell’s lap and lovingly rubbed its nose against his face and neck.
