Overview
Here are the rules for making notes explained in English and Hindi in simple and original language:
1. Read the Passage Carefully
English:
Read the passage two or three times. Try to understand the main idea and important points before writing notes.
Hindi:
गद्यांश को दो या तीन बार ध्यान से पढ़ें। पहले मुख्य विचार और महत्वपूर्ण बिंदुओं को समझ लें, फिर नोट्स बनाना शुरू करें।
2. Give a Suitable Title
English:
Write a short and meaningful title. The title should clearly show the central theme of the passage.
Hindi:
एक छोटा और अर्थपूर्ण शीर्षक लिखें। शीर्षक से गद्यांश का मुख्य विषय स्पष्ट होना चाहिए।
3. Use Headings and Subheadings
English:
Divide the notes into main headings and subpoints. Use numbers like 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 2.1, etc. This makes notes neat and organized.
Hindi:
नोट्स को मुख्य शीर्षकों और उप-बिंदुओं में बाँटें। 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 2.1 आदि का प्रयोग करें। इससे नोट्स साफ और व्यवस्थित दिखते हैं।
4. Write in Points, Not Sentences
English:
Do not write full sentences. Use short phrases and keywords only. Notes should be brief and clear.
Hindi:
पूरे वाक्य न लिखें। केवल छोटे वाक्यांश और मुख्य शब्दों का प्रयोग करें। नोट्स संक्षिप्त और स्पष्ट होने चाहिए।
5. Use Abbreviations
English:
Use short forms for commonly used words. Do not overuse abbreviations. Always provide a list of abbreviations at the end.
Hindi:
अक्सर आने वाले शब्दों के लिए संक्षिप्त रूप (Short Forms) का प्रयोग करें। बहुत अधिक संक्षेप न करें। अंत में संक्षेपों की सूची अवश्य दें।
6. Avoid Unnecessary Words
English:
Remove articles (a, an, the) and extra words. Focus only on important ideas.
Hindi:
अनावश्यक शब्दों और आर्टिकल (a, an, the) को हटाएँ। केवल महत्वपूर्ण बातों पर ध्यान दें।
7. Maintain Proper Format
English:
Follow a clear numbering system. Keep spacing proper. Notes should look neat and systematic.
Hindi:
स्पष्ट नंबरिंग प्रणाली अपनाएँ। उचित स्थान और क्रम बनाए रखें। नोट्स साफ और व्यवस्थित दिखने चाहिए।
8. Do Not Add Personal Opinion
English:
Write only the ideas given in the passage. Do not add your own thoughts or examples.
Hindi:
केवल गद्यांश में दी गई जानकारी लिखें। अपने विचार या उदाहरण न जोड़ें।

Tourism has emerged as the world’s largest industry. Growing rapidly in the last two decades, today it accounts for 6% of world output and employs some 100 million people around the globe. Tourism – the travel – based recreation – provides people with change of place and a break from the monotony of daily life. It brings peoples of different nations together allowing them to come into close contact with each other’s customs and other aspects of life. It reveals the scenic beauty and past heritage of a country. It can lead to greater understanding and tolerance and can even foster world peace.
The contribution of tourism can be nowhere seen more clearly than on the economic front. A study conducted by the United Nations has shown that developing countries, in particular, can reap handsome benefits out of tourism which greatly boost national income.
